Code of Conduct

Last Update: 01 April 2025

1. Introduction

At Altera Coaching & Advisory Pte. Ltd. (“Altera”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), we uphold a commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and integrity in all aspects of our work. This Code of Conduct articulates the values and behavioural expectations that govern our relationships, both internally and externally.

This Code applies to all Altera personnel, including employees, contractors, and associates, as well as to clients, collaborators, and business partners who engage with our services or represent our brand.

Our objective is to foster a culture of trust, inclusion, accountability, and mutual respect—one in which every individual is treated with dignity, fairness, and consideration.

2. Compliance with Laws and Professional Standards

Altera conducts its operations in full compliance with all applicable local and international laws, regulations, and professional standards. This includes, but is not limited to, adherence to Singapore’s legal and regulatory framework, as well as the ethical codes and practice guidelines issued by relevant professional bodies such as the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC).

We expect all Altera personnel, including employees, associates, and collaborators, to understand and comply with these legal and professional obligations. Any concerns, suspected breaches, or violations should be reported promptly through appropriate internal channels to ensure they are addressed in a timely and responsible manner.

3. Integrity and Conflicts of Interest

Altera is committed to conducting its work with integrity, transparency, and impartiality. We expect all individuals representing the organisation to act honestly and ethically, and to avoid any situations where personal, financial, or professional interests may compromise—or appear to compromise—their objectivity or judgement.

All team members, contractors, and collaborators are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest to Altera’s management as soon as they arise. Appropriate steps will then be taken to assess and manage the situation in a manner consistent with our values and professional standards.

This expectation is particularly critical in coaching and mediation engagements, where neutrality, boundaries, and the avoidance of dual relationships are essential to maintaining trust, fairness, and professional integrity.

4. Confidentiality and Data Protection

Confidentiality is a fundamental principle that underpins all professional engagements at Altera. We are committed to respecting the privacy of our clients, partners, and stakeholders, and to maintaining the highest standards of discretion and data protection in all matters.

All personal and sensitive data collected or processed by Altera is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the requirements of the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Singapore. We ensure that such data is used solely for authorised purposes and is protected against unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.

Information shared during coaching, mediation, advisory, or other professional services is treated as confidential and shall not be disclosed to third parties without the explicit consent of the individual concerned, unless required by law or regulatory obligation, or otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Professionalism and Quality

At Altera, we are dedicated to delivering our services with care, competence, and a continuous commitment to excellence. Professional conduct is expected from all team members, associates, and collaborators at all times, regardless of role or seniority.

We expect all representatives of Altera to demonstrate punctuality, courtesy, reliability, and respect in every client interaction and internal engagement. Professionalism extends not only to communication and appearance, but also to the quality, consistency, and responsiveness of our service delivery.

Altera fosters a culture of continuous learning and development. We actively invest in ongoing professional education to ensure our standards remain current, ethical, and aligned with best practices across the fields of coaching, human resources advisory, consulting, and mediation.

6. Inclusivity, Respect, and Dignity

Altera is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment for all individuals. We do not tolerate any form of harassment, victimisation, discrimination, or exclusion—whether explicit or implicit—on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, religion, disability, nationality, or any other protected characteristic.

We expect every member of our team, as well as clients, collaborators, and partners, to treat one another with dignity, empathy, and fairness. This standard applies to all interactions—verbal, written, or digital—and extends across our coaching sessions, advisory services, and broader professional engagements.

Promoting psychological safety, cultural sensitivity, and mutual respect is not only a matter of policy at Altera, but a core value that shapes our relationships and impact.

7. Fair Competition and Business Conduct

Altera conducts all business activities with honesty, transparency, and fairness. We are committed to upholding ethical standards in all commercial dealings and maintaining compliance with applicable competition and trade regulations.

We do not engage in, support, or tolerate any form of deceptive marketing, price-fixing, bid-rigging, collusion, or other anti-competitive practices. All representations made in our proposals, communications, and promotional materials must be accurate, truthful, and substantiated.

Integrity in business conduct extends to our interactions with clients, vendors, partners, and competitors. We expect the same level of ethical behaviour from all individuals and entities with whom we collaborate.

8. Anti-Bribery and Corruption

Altera maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards bribery, corruption, and any form of unethical inducement. We are committed to conducting our operations with integrity and in full compliance with applicable anti-corruption laws and international best practices.

No employee, contractor, or representative of Altera shall offer, give, solicit, or accept any bribe, facilitation payment, or improper advantage—whether in the form of cash, gifts, hospitality, or services—that may be perceived to influence a business decision or create a conflict of interest.

This standard applies to all individuals and entities acting on behalf of Altera, and we expect our clients, suppliers, and collaborators to uphold the same ethical principles in all professional interactions.

Any suspected breaches of this policy should be reported promptly through the appropriate reporting channels.

9. Reporting Concerns

Altera encourages a culture of transparency, open communication, and accountability. We recognise the importance of enabling individuals to raise concerns about conduct that may be unethical, unlawful, or in breach of this Code.

Any team member, client, partner, or third party may confidentially report suspected violations or misconduct. Reports can be submitted via email to ethics@alteraca.com, where they will be handled with discretion and care.

All concerns will be reviewed promptly and addressed in a fair, objective, and timely manner. Altera strictly prohibits any form of retaliation against individuals who report concerns in good faith. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality and dignity of those who come forward.

10. Updates and Amendments

This Code of Conduct is reviewed and updated periodically to reflect evolving legal requirements, professional standards, and organisational values. Altera reserves the right to amend, revise, or replace this Code at its sole discretion and without prior notice.

Any material updates will be communicated to relevant stakeholders, including employees, contractors, clients, and partners. Continued engagement with Altera following such updates shall constitute acceptance of the revised Code.

All individuals to whom this Code applies are expected to remain familiar with its contents and to comply with the most current version in force.
